I wanted to grow into higher roles and found myself looking at jobs on LinkedIn every day after work. At some point, I realized I had saved 48 jobs but applied to only 1. They were OK but just not for me. Perhaps I could get headhunted for the roles…I read that LinkedIn was good for this so I decided to work with a coach in the US to redo my LinkedIn profile.
After two weeks, I got a message from the then Managing Director of Michael Page on LinkedIn inviting me to an interview for Reuters. This role was similar to the one I held but paid 5 times what I was earning at the time! So, LinkedIn worked great but I had more questions about interviewing, salary negotiation…

How could I get started?
So I thought, what if I could reengineer the process to meet more recruiters and build my network so I could get more interesting roles?
I also found out that 70%+ of jobs were privately filled through networks but how exactly did one go about searching for roles within networks?

As I learned more, I shared my experiences with friends and family. Turns out I was not alone. People were trying to optimize their LinkedIn profiles, ace interviews and find great roles too. But who specialized in helping people looking to land higher-level roles…
I offered to help them and they saw results AND I loved it! I caught the bug. For two years, I immersed myself in learning the ins and outs of executive search, how to position yourself to succeed, and more. Angled North was soon launched.
